Robert B. Our Company invites applications for a Shop Assistant/Parts Driver to join our growing team. Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the Assistant supports all aspects of garage operations from shop maintenance to fleet operations and deliveries.
- Maintain shop by emptying filters from drain oil containment areas, empty trash barrels, and handling general maintenance/upkeep.
- Complete pre-trip inspections (check mechanical, safety and emergency equipment) and complete inspection reports as needed to note defects, traffic violations, and damage. Clean vehicles, replenish fuel, and perform basic maintenance under the supervision of the mechanic. Maintain vehicle logs/records.
- Handle parts pick up and daily deliveries to/from designated locations, ensuing timely and accurate deliveries. Confirm deliveries and communicate delays effectively. Plan and follow the most efficient routes for delivering goods; adjust routes based on changing conditions. Use GPS or other navigation devices to assist with route planning. Maintain delivery log.
- Assist with loading mulch bins and aggregate deliveries.
- Adhere to company safety policies and applicable federal and state DOT regulations.
The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. The position is full-time, benefits- eligible.
General Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class A, B or C driver’s license and ability to meet Company driving standards
- Knowledge of local roads and use of GPS for navigation
- OSHA 10 certification
- Forklift certification
- Requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and adhere to deadlines/schedules
The position requires the successful completion/passing of a DOT physical, background check and drug test in accordance with Federal, State and/or Company standards.
The expected hourly salary range for this position is $29.00 – 32.00. Actual salaries will depend on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, education and other qualifications. Robert B. Our Company, Inc offers a comprehensive benefits package to eligible employees.
