Field Engineer/Site Superintendent (Sewer, Wastewater and Drainage)

Robert B. Our Company invites applications for a Field Engineer/Site Superintendent to join our dynamic and growing team. Working on both private and public construction projects, the Field Engineer/Site Superintendent serves in a leadership capacity to assist with the oversight and management of all phases of multiple construction projects ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

General Responsibilities

  • Assist with overseeing the day-to-day, on-site operations of construction sites – overseeing jobs from inception through completion – ensuring that the project is completed safely, efficiently and according to project plans, specifications and schedule.
  • Work effectively to ensure that the project remains within budget. As directed, provide regular updates to the project manager regarding work progress, issues, and changes. Proactively collaborate on project progress, schedule and budget, among other matters. Work to resolve site issues promptly. Serve as the liaison between each crew and the project manager.
  • As directed, supervise all on-site crews and subcontractors. Manage daily construction activities, coordinating various teams to ensure cohesiveness of project plans.
  • Coordinate on-site work schedules and deliveries. Coordinate with dispatch daily for equipment and staffing needs. Manage resources.  Ensure that all necessary materials, equipment, and labor are available when needed.
  • May perform the necessary layout and/or coordinate layout with the survey team.
  • Monitor construction to ensure quality control and compliance with design documents.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and ensure work meets the required specifications.
  • Enforce site safety policies and OSHA compliance as well as adherence to all federal, state and local safety regulations. As directed, conduct safety meetings and weekly toolbox talks with crews. As needed, serve as competent person on the job site.
  • Maintain daily logs and project records, including site photos and progress updates.

General Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction supervising or field management; preference for candidates who have experience in the design and construction of water/wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction processes, safety standards, and building codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Ability to work independently and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in field documentation and reporting.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience using construction scheduling/project management software (i.e., Bid2Win) preferred.
  • OSHA 10-hour certification required; OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • The position requires the successful completion of a background check.

The expected salary range for this position is $100,000 to $163,396. Actual salaries will depend on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, education and other qualifications. Robert B. Our Company, Inc offers a comprehensive benefits package to eligible employees.
